THE FOREST OF NEPAL

A forest is a part of land where trees and plants grow thickly and close to one another, forests are the main natural resources of Nepal.
Generally there are five kinds of forests in Nepal. They are (a) Sub – tropical evergreen forest (b) Temperature deciduous forest (c) Temperature coniferous forest (d) Alpine vegetation (e) Tundra vegetation
Forests have many advantages. Forests are inhabitant of many kinds of wild animals and birds. They make the environment fresh and beautiful. The forests are the chief sources of firewood, timber, herbs, grass and so on. They are used to grow herbs. Our country can earn foreign currency by exporting them in other countries. They keep the soil tightly.
The present condition of forests in Nepal is not very good. Population is growing rapidly. They fell trees and destroy the jungle for cultivation, settlement, pasture, etc. As green forest is the wealth of Nepal. This cutting down of trees should be stopped. People should be taught the importance of forests. The government should make strict rules about protecting forests and punishment for those who destroy forests.
Forests are our main attractions centre. They can balance the environmental situations. Therefore forests should be kept safe.
