Nepal

Nepal is a small Himalayan country. It is situated between two large countries India and China. Today has a population of about twenty four millions. Katmandu is the capital city of Nepal. Nepal is politically divided into five development regions, fourteen zones and seventy five districts.
Nepal has popularly become a destination of International tourist. Some of them came to Nepal to scale various glorious summits of the Himalayan range. Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world is one of them. Tourism is the backbone of Nepal’s economy. Nepal is known as Singapore for tourists from south Asian countries.
It is the fact that Nepal is one of the least developed countries in the world. It is far behind the developed countries. High mountains where road building is not only slow but also expensive cover most of the land. A country cannot develop fast unless it has a good transport and communication network. Some political turmoil in recent years have caused a set back to our development process. Nepal has been a troubled state for some years because of Maoist insurgency.
The majority of the people of this country follow Hinduism. But we can enjoy the freedom of religion by constitution. So many people here are Buddhists, Muslims, Christian, and so forth. There has always been religious and social harmony among the people of different social groups. Religious difference has never been a serious problem in the country. We have unity among diversity.
